Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix's athletic talent was evident right from the day she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. The following year, Felix won her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking the world junior record taking 200 metres at 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of the events.
